Canton Man Charged With Child Sex Crimes: Police

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A Canton Township man is facing multiple sex charges involving children, according to Michigan State Police.

Julio Cesar Maldonado, 32, was charged with one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of aggravated child sexually abusive activity, one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Investigators with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and police began looking into Maldonado when they learned he may have produced and manufactured illicit content on the internet.

Investigators then searched his home where they seized digital evidence, according to police.

Officers then arrested Maldonado. He was arraigned Friday in Plymouth's 35th District Court.

Police did not release any additional details about the case.
