Canton Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash: Police
Investigators were still trying to determine if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, MI — A motorcyclist was killed and a woman was injured in a Washtenaw County crash Monday, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Austin Road and Sharon Road in Manchester Township, according to police.
A 49-year-old Canton man was riding a 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on Austin Road when he slammed into a 2010 Buick Lucerne at the Sharon Road intersection, according to police.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and killed in the crash, according to police.
The driver of the Buick, a 68-year-old woman from Addison, was taken to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Police said she is expected to survive.
Investigators believe the woman failed to yield to the motorcycle when she turned in front of it, causing the crash.
They are not sure yet if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Police reminded drivers that motorcycles are out in greater numbers during the summer months.
"Both motorists and motorcyclists must remain vigilant, especially when approaching intersections," police said in a statement. "Drivers should always take an extra moment to look twice for motorcycles before turning or entering an intersection."
