March 28 rally planned in Canton MI
One of many No Kings events across Michigan and the nation

Residents of western Wayne County, Michigan will gather in Canton on Saturday, March 28, 2026 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to protest a wide range of federal government actions and orders.
Protestors will line the sidewalk along the west side of Canton Center Road, between Heritage Park Road and Summit Parkway. The rally will extend north and south from Canton Township’s Administration Building, at 1150 South Canton Center Rd.
All are welcome to exercise their First Amendment rights by holding handmade protest signs with non-violent, family-friendly messages, and waving American flags. Passing motorists are encouraged to show support by honking and waving.

The Canton event is organized by members of the Belleville Area Friends Indivisible, which welcomes members from Belleville, Canton, Plymouth, Northville, Westland, Van Buren Township, Sumpter Township, Ypsilanti and beyond.
Some of the issues that have brought people together under the Indivisible movement include federal funding cuts and other actions and proposals affecting (in no particular order) immigrant rights, free and fair elections, veterans, Social Security, scientific and medical research, public education, foreign relations and international trade, Medicaid, libraries, national security, public lands, the environment, the judicial system, diversity/equity/inclusion initiatives, personal data, consumer protections, the LGBTQ+ community, reproductive health, arts and cultural organizations, food assistance, public health, foreign aid, people with disabilities, the U.S. Postal Service, Medicare, the tax system and more.
The BAFI group previously organized rallies in April 2025 in Canton and June 2025 in Belleville that drew thousands of people, and has organized other activities.
The March 28 event will take place largely on the sidewalk, which is accessible public space and subject to Michigan law.
This is a rain or shine event. Event marshals will be on hand to ensure that regular pedestrian access is not interrupted. A BAFI tent and table on the lawn will offer information.
Ample parking is available in Heritage Park off Heritage Parkway. Those with mobility limitations should park behind the township administrative building. The Canton Public Library lot should be reserved for library patrons.
A core principle behind Indivisible is a commitment to nonviolent action.
