Wayne County Man Charged In Girlfriend's Shooting Death: Prosecutor
Prosecutors said an argument escalated between the two, leading to the fatal shooting.
VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, — A Wayne County man has been charged in connection with his girlfriend's shooting death last week, according to prosecutors.
The shooting happened at 9:08 p.m. last Thursday at an apartment located in the 48500 block of the Interstate 94 service drive in Huron Township, according to prosecutors.
When officers entered the apartment, they found 28-year-old Frances Beatty lying in the hallway with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to prosecutors.

Medics took her to a nearby hospital where she died, according to prosecutors.
Damarco Darnell Manns, 31, of Van Buren Township, was charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of discharge of a firearm in or at a building – causing death and two counts of felony firearm.

His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 28.
Prosecutors said an altercation between Manns and Beatty escalated, leading to Manns fatally shooting Beatty with a handgun.
The couple lived in the apartment together, according to prosecutors.
