You’ll find musical entertainment, two huge slip and slides, a Rochester Hills Fire Truck, foam machine for little kids, wading in Stoney Creek and water activities sponsored by the Clinton River Watershed Council. No registration required. Doors open at 11:30am.

In this twist on our popular Twilight Tours, guests are invited to enjoy an evening garden party in the style of The Great Gatsby. It will be a night of hot jazz and cold drinks set at the extravagant historic mansion and estate – worthy of Jay Gatsby himself. As a luxurious estate built in the 1920s, it’s the perfect location to attend a Gatsby Garden Party.
Enjoy light refreshments and a cash bar in a spectacular setting, worthy of even West Egg’s social scene. Bring a date or friends to sip a signature cocktail and enjoy live music while the sun sets over the Great Estate. A journey into the heart of America’s most iconic forests, GIANTS RISING explores the secrets, superpowers and saga of the redwoods— the tallest and some of the oldest living beings on Earth. It’s an epic tale that reveals the wonders of these majestic trees and our dramatic, ever-evolving relationship with them. Living links to the past, redwoods also hold powers that may play a role in our future, including their ability to withstand fire and capture carbon, to offer clues about resilience, and even to enhance our own well-being. Through the voices of biologists, artists, Native communities and others, we discover the redwoods’ scientific marvels and our deep cultural ties to them. It’s a story that offers insights about the value of our interconnections, and the promise of solutions that will help us ALL rise up to face the challenges that lay ahead.

Come see six exhibit panels highlighting “The Oakland County Underground Railroad Project,” a multi-community public history project to research and provide access to evidence-based local Underground Railroad history. It was led by The Birmingham Museum and Oakland County Historical Commission, funded in part by Michigan Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is open for drop-in hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 12 - 3pm, with a Guided Tour of the 1840 Van Hoosen Farmhouse at 1:00pm and the 1850 Red House immediately following. 
Included with your admission is a self-paced, interactive look at our community’s local history. You also get to meet the Taylor-Van Hoosen families, check out Mastodon bones, and enjoy a wide variety of local videos from the Newberry Hill ski jump to our award-winning PBS movie and numerous computer interactives. The guided tour of the Van Hoosen Farmhouse departs from the Dairy Barn at 1:00 pm, and you may take a self-guided tour of the Bull Barn, Milk House, Equipment Barn, and Children’s Garden, as well as the nearby Stoney Creek Cemetery, and our 16 acres of grounds. Come and share your afternoon with us at our site – listed on the National Register of Historic Places!

First Congregational Church, UCC

First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, Rochester is hosting a concert by a local mountain dulcimer group, the River Strings of St. Clair County, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 7 p.m.
The concert's program is eclectic, with a playlist of pop, Irish, Tin Pan Alley, old time, gospel and Stephen Foster tunes. Some of highlights include "Isle of Innisfree," a popular Irish song, "Ashokan Farewell," which Ken Burns popularized with his Civil War documentary series, and a wonderful arrangement of Stephen Foster's "My Old Kentucky Home.” 
The concert is free – freewill offerings will be collected during intermission and after the concert to support the church’s music program. The church is located at 1315 N. Pine Street, Rochester, MI, 48307. 
 

The River Strings of St. Clair County group was established in 2007 in Algonac, Michigan by Bernie Hughes. Initially formed as a mountain dulcimer group, they soon began to add other instruments such as guitar, banjo and fiddles, and now perform with a variety of instruments including penny whistle, conga drum, ukulele, wooden spoons, washboard, harmonica and marimbula, an African bass thumb drum. The group enjoys performing various genres of music including folk, gospel, pop, rock, Celtic, calypso, Cajun, Tin Pan Alley, rags, waltzes and classical. They have performed over 150 times at senior centers, nursing homes, churches, art fairs, folk festivals, and restaurants.
“We’re always delighted to have the River Strings of St. Clair County performing here,” commented Pastor Scott Cunningham. “Their concerts are joyful and fun for all ages.”

About River Strings of St. Clair County
The River Strings of St. Clair County is made up of seniors who enjoy playing and sharing their music. They meet weekly at the Washington Life Center in Marine City, Michigan. Members come from many different communities including Rochester Hills, Algonac, Marine City, China Township, Clay Township, Shelby Township, Romeo, Richmond, and Memphis. Visitors are welcome to drop in any Tuesday morning to enjoy listening to the group as they rehearse.
