Man Hit, Killed By Car While Teaching Daughter How To Drive: Police

WARREN, MI — A Warren man died after he was hit by a car that his daughter was driving during a road lesson on Sunday, according to police.

The incident happened at 4 p.m. Sunday in the 24000 block of Warner Avenue, which is near Stephens Road between Dequindre and Ryan roads in Warren, according to police.

Police said the 62-year-old man was teaching his 18-year-old daughter on how to drive.

During the lesson, police said the 18-year-old struck her father with the vehicle and dragged him a short distance before stopping.

Medics took the man to a nearby hospital where he died, according to police.

The 18-year-old girl stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to police.

Police do not suspect drugs and alcohol in the crash.
