Multiple Hurt After Boat Explosion Along Lake St. Clair in Macomb County: Sheriff

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI — Multiple people were injured after a boat explosion and fire Thursday at a marine towing business along Lake St. Clair in Macomb County, according to sheriff's officials.

The incident happened at 1:10 p.m. at the gas pumps at Tow Boat USA, located on South River Road in Harrison Township, officials said.

Officials arrived and saved several people from the water, with at least three taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials said.

There was no immediate update on their conditions.

Officials were still investigating the cause of the blast, but do not believe foul play is involved.

Tow Boat USA provides boaters with multiple services, such as emergency towing, fuel delivery, soft ungrounding and jump-starts.
