38 Horses Seized From Oakland County Trail Ride Company, Home: Officials

Officials said they began receiving complaints last month about inappropriate treatment and inadequate care of the horses.

MILFORD, MI — Oakland County Animal Control officers seized 38 horses from an Oakland County trail ride company and home Wednesday, according to officials.

The horses were taken from the High Vibes Trail Rides and a home on West Commerce Road in Milford, according to officials.

Officials with the county department said they began receiving complaints last month about inappropriate treatment and inadequate care of the horses.

After investigating, officials obtained search warrants and seized the horses.

The horses were taken to a Michigan-based animal rescue and rehabilitation organization, where veterinarians will examine them, officials said.

Officials are still investigating and plan to turn over their findings to the prosecutor's office for potential charges.
