Eagan Primary Results: See Who's Moving On To November

EAGAN, MN — Eagan voters headed to the polls Tuesday to narrow the field in two of the city's most closely watched local races, trimming the ballot ahead of November's general election.

In the mayor's race, incumbent Mike Maguire led the three candidate field with 46 percent of the vote, followed closely by Mike Supina at 41 percent.

Joseph P. Krueger trailed with 13 percent and was eliminated from contention. Maguire and Supina will face off again in November.

The Eagan City Council primary drew five candidates competing to advance to November, when four of them will face off for two open seats.

Paul Bakken led the field with 32 percent, followed by Gary Hansen at 30 percent, Scott Armitage at 17 percent and Jason Narverud at 14 percent.

Ross A. Christensen finished fifth with 8 percent and was eliminated.

Bakken, Hansen, Armitage and Narverud advance to the general election, where they will compete for two council seats.

All 18 of Eagan's precincts had reported results, with 99 percent of the expected vote counted, according to data reported by the Star Tribune. Results remain unofficial until certified by the county canvassing board.
