1 Dead In Edina Shooting; Suspects Still On The Run
Police said the victim was found with a gunshot wound on W. 66th Street, and nearby businesses were told to lock down.
EDINA, MN — A person was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in Edina, prompting a large police response, nearby lockdowns and an ongoing search for suspects, according to police.
Edina police said officers were called around 12:30 p.m. to the 3300 block of W. 66th St. on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found one victim with a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died at the scene, police said.
Authorities said the suspects ran from the area before officers got there and remain at large as multiple law enforcement agencies continue to investigate. Businesses nearby were told to go into lockdown as a precaution, and police urged the public to continue avoiding the area.
