Fallen Utility Pole Sparks Fatal Vehicle Fire In Hopkins
Police say a downed pole started a fire that killed the person inside the vehicle.
HOPKINS, MN — One person is dead after a utility pole fell onto a vehicle in Hopkins on Sunday, sparking a fire, according to a news release from the Hopkins Police Department.
The Hopkins Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene in the 300 block of Blake Road North on Sunday evening. The pole fell onto the vehicle and it caught fire, resulting in the death of the person inside, police said.
The incident remains under investigation. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet released the name of the victim.
