MN Man Referenced Jeffrey Dahmer, Threatened To Kill Woman During Assault: Charges
A woman told police she escaped after the 24-year-old fell asleep. Investigators later recovered a weapon from the home.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — A 24-year-old Lakeville man is charged with rape and kidnapping after a woman told police he beat her, threatened to kill her and referenced serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer before sexually assaulting her at his home, according to a criminal complaint.
Logan Wayne Davis faces two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of kidnapping, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in Dakota County District Court. A judicial officer ordered him to remain in custody pending further proceedings.
Law enforcement received a report of a sexual assault at a Lakeville home on Oct. 11, the complaint says.

The woman told investigators Davis picked her up from a friend's house at about 2 a.m. that day and drove her to his home in Lakeville. The two were drinking in his closet when Davis made a sexual comment toward her, according to the complaint. She told police she felt uncomfortable and tried to leave several times, but Davis moved her hand away from the door handle or blocked her path.
She eventually got out of the closet, grabbed her purse and headed upstairs. When she reached the top of the stairs, Davis pulled her hair, covered her mouth and told her not to scream, the complaint says. He then pushed her back downstairs to his room, locked the door and hit her in the face several times.

Davis forced her back into the closet and threw her phone out the window, according to the complaint. He hit her with a belt multiple times, striking her each time she tried to speak, and threatened to kill her and her family, charges say.
According to the complaint, Davis brought up Jeffrey Dahmer and told the woman he had always wanted to commit murders like the serial killer's. He described several ways he wanted to kill her, including cutting up her body and putting it in his drawers, suffocating her and shooting her. While talking about suffocating her, he tried to choke her, the complaint says.
Davis also hit her in the face with a gun he had in the closet and, at one point, struck her on the back of the head with an alcohol bottle, according to charges. He then sexually assaulted her as she cried, the complaint says.
After Davis fell asleep, the woman grabbed the gun, ran upstairs and told his mother what had happened, according to the complaint. Davis' mother retrieved the woman's phone from outside and drove her back to her friend's house.
Investigators observed an abrasion on the woman's scalp, a bump on her head, redness and swelling around her right eye, a red mark on her neck and bruising on her legs, the complaint says.
When officers executed a search warrant, they recovered a replica .45-caliber gun, according to charges.
Each first-degree criminal sexual conduct count carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, with a presumptive sentence of 144 months under state law. The kidnapping charge carries up to 20 years.
