Lutheran theologian David Chytraeus once wrote: “The books of the philosophers and poets of the pagans should be read by Christians, because they either speak the same things and agree in consensus, or they speak differently, and the comparison is profitable.”

Join the ULC Philosophy Club as we read Christian and pagan philosophers together, studying the truth of God’s creation through the gift of reason. No experience necessary, but come ready to challenge your own ideas, engage with others’ thoughts, and explore new concepts. This week, we will discuss Part 1 of Edmund Burke’s A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful.

We will meet in the narthex of the Chapel and walk to a local lunch spot from there. All are welcome to attend!

Free parking is available in the ULC lot (entrance off 4th Street), and street parking is available on 4th Street and University Avenue no permit required on Sundays.
