Celebrate Women’s History Month with Julia Child and Free Museum Access This Weekend

As March ushers in Women’s History Month, Twin Cities residents have a unique opportunity to celebrate a culinary icon while saving on admission. This weekend, March 7th and 8th, Bank of America cardholders can explore the life of Julia Child for free at the Minnesota History Center.

The featured exhibition, Julia Child: A Recipe for Life, is currently in its final months. The immersive experience invites visitors to step into the world of the trailblazing chef who transformed American food culture. Through stories of her passion, persistence, and famous love for butter, the exhibit captures the joyful spirit of a woman who proved it’s never too late to find your calling.

How to Get Free Admission

Through the Museums on Us® program, Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders receive free general admission during the first full weekend of every month.

To participate, simply present your active credit or debit card along with a photo ID at the ticket desk. Please note that this offer applies to the cardholder only and does not include guests or special ticketed events.

Participating Minnesota Locations

While the Julia Child exhibit is a must-see this month, several other Minnesota Historical Society sites are also opening their doors for the program this Saturday and Sunday:

• Minnesota History Center (St. Paul): Home to the Julia Child exhibit. Open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Mill City Museum (Minneapolis): Explore the history of the flour milling capital of the world. Open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• James J. Hill House (St. Paul): Tour the Gilded Age mansion of the "Empire Builder." Sat: 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. / Sun: 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Historic Fort Snelling (St. Paul): Take a step back into military history. Open Saturday only, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Split Rock Lighthouse (Two Harbors): A scenic drive to one of the most photographed stops on Lake Superior. Open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Note: The Oliver Kelley Farm and Jeffers Petroglyphs are currently closed for the season.
