Two Minnesota ZIP Codes Rank Among America's 50 Hottest Housing Markets

Realtor's latest rankings put these areas among the nation's most in-demand markets.

MINNESOTA — Two Minnesota ZIP codes are among the nation's hottest real estate markets this year, according to Realtor.com's newly released 2026 Hottest ZIP Codes report, which tracks buyer demand and how quickly homes sell across the country.

Duluth's 55811 ZIP code landed at No. 35 nationally, drawing more than four times the typical U.S. number of views per listing and a median of 36 days on the market.

The median listing price there was $552,000 in June.

The 55110 ZIP code, covering the White Bear Lake and Dellwood area within the Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington metro, ranked No. 37.

Listings there attracted about 2.7 times the national average in views per property, spent a median of 33 days on the market, and carried a median listing price of $381,000.

Realtor.com's rankings are built from two measures: how many unique viewers a typical listing draws compared with the national average, and how many days a listing stays active before it sells.

The site's senior economist, Hannah Jones, said this year's buyers are chasing space, character and a manageable commute rather than the lowest price tag alone.

For the fourth consecutive year, the hottest markets nationally were concentrated in the Northeast and Midwest, with Peabody, Massachusetts topping the overall list.

Only two Minnesota ZIP codes made the cut, both tied to areas within reach of the Twin Cities and Duluth job centers.

Nationally, listings in the hottest ZIP codes had roughly 60 percent less inventory than before the pandemic, compared with an 11 percent shortfall nationwide, contributing to the intensified competition in those spots, according to Realtor.com.
