Amazon said the 30-minute service uses smaller fulfillment locations placed closer to where customers live and work. The company said the setup is designed to shorten delivery distances and speed up order fulfillment.

In most areas where Amazon Now is available, the service operates 24 hours a day, according to the company.

Amazon Now joins several other fast-delivery options offered by the company, including Prime Air drone delivery, 1-hour and 3-hour delivery, and Same-Day Delivery. Amazon said more than 10,000 cities and towns across the country have access to Same-Day Delivery.

Amazon said Prime members in the United States received more than 8 billion items the same day or next day in 2025, an increase of more than 30 percent compared with the year before. Groceries and everyday essentials made up about half of those items, according to the company.
