Lake Ann Drowning Prompts Chanhassen To Cancel Fireworks
The Carver County Dive Team recovered the man just before 10 p.m. Saturday after he went underwater and did not resurface.
CHANHASSEN, MN - The Carver County Sheriff's Office recovered the body of an adult male from Lake Ann in Chanhassen Saturday night following a water search.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies received reports around 7:20 p.m. that a man had gone underwater and had not resurfaced. Lake Ann Park was closed while crews conducted the search, and the public was asked to stay away from the area.
Just before 10 p.m., members of the Carver County Dive Team recovered the man's body, the Sheriff's Office said. Authorities confirmed there were no other victims.

The Sheriff's Office said it is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident in coordination with the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office, which will determine the man's identity and official cause of death.
The City of Chanhassen also canceled its Fourth of July fireworks show at Lake Ann Park that evening. In an update posted to its weather alerts page around 8:10 p.m. Saturday, the city said the fireworks were canceled and would be rescheduled if possible. The show has since been rescheduled for Thursday, July 23.

City officials thanked the Sheriff's Office, the Carver County Dive Team, the Chanhassen Fire Department and other public safety partners who responded.
