Retired Secret Service Agent Stalked Current Agent in Ladue, Police Say
Ladue Police said Robert Warren Sr. felt the agent's job in St. Louis should have gone to Warren's son and began harassing the man.

A Chesterfield man, who is a retired U.S. Secret Service agent, is accused of stalking a current Secret Service agent. Ladue Police said the retired manβs son was a candidate for a position given to the victim, which led to the harassment.
Robert B. Warren Sr, 62, of the 16300 block of Wynncrest Falls Way in Chesterfield, was charged Monday with stalking, a class A misdemeanor.
Ladue Police said the victim moved to the areaΒ when he accepted a new position with the Secret Service office inΒ St. Louis. Warrenβs son also was a candidate for the position, and he felt his son should have gotten the job that went to the Ladue resident, police said.

WarrenΒ let the agent, his colleagues and supervisors know he was not happy about the manΒ taking a position his son desired, police reported.

Police said Warren wrote a letter April 3, 2012 to the Secret Service, pretending to be the manβs neighbor, complaining about his work ethic and the hours he was keeping. Due to details in the letter, the agent concluded someone had been watching his home in Ladue for a substantial period of time.
Police reported that the man also received a letter at his workplace Sept. 10, 2012 βthat could serve no purpose but to harass.β
A handwriting expert determined the handwriting on the letters to be consistent with Warrenβs handwriting. Police said the victim already had come to the same conclusion based upon Warrenβs behavior and observation of his handwriting on work-related documents, and shared his opinion with his supervisors.
Police reported the man saw Warren in the 100 block of Pointer Lane near his home in Ladue Nov. 19, 2012, followed his vehicle and obtained his license information. Records showed the vehicle and license plates are registered to Warren.
A message left at Warrenβs home Wednesday morning was not returned to Patch. A Secret Service agent said no internal investigation is being conducted into the incident.
Warren was issued a criminal summons to appear in St. Louis County Circuit Court Sept. 12.
