Panther Pride: 5 Unforgettable Athletes From Fort Zumwalt North High School
From local fields to national fame, these stars got their start in O'Fallon.

Sports run deep in O'Fallon, and Fort Zumwalt North High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Panther uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Fort Zumwalt North High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
Robert Rezex – Collegiate Defensive Back
O’Fallon’s Robert Rezex continued his football career at the collegiate level after competing at Fort Zumwalt North High School. A multi-year varsity contributor in high school, he helped Fort Zumwalt North capture conference, sectional and regional championships while playing primarily in the defensive secondary. Rezex went on to play college football at Southern Arkansas University before transferring, where he now appears on the roster at Kansas Wesleyan University as a defensive back while pursuing a major in Health and Physical Education. Camden Lohman – Minor League Baseball Pitcher (New York Mets)
Camden Lohman began his professional baseball career after being selected by the New York Mets in the eighth round of the 2025 MLB Draft. A graduate of Fort Zumwalt North High School and an O’Fallon native, Lohman entered the professional ranks directly out of high school and was signed by the Mets later that summer. He was subsequently assigned to the Florida Complex League Mets, his first stop in the Mets’ minor league system. (Sources: MILB; Baseball Reference)

Grace Thorn – Multi-Sport Standout
O’Fallon’s Grace Thorn competed at the varsity level for Fort Zumwalt North High School, where she was a two-year varsity starter in softball. Playing primarily at shortstop, with time in the outfield, she contributed consistently during her high school career and wore jersey No. 2 for the Panthers. Thorn also competed with the STL Blaze at the club level and was a multi-year basketball player, further developing her as a multi-sport athlete. (Sources: NCSA; Perfect Game)
Tyler Witt – Collegiate Baseball Infielder
Tyler Witt, of O’Fallon, competed at the high school level for Fort Zumwalt North High School, where he played primarily as a middle infielder and third baseman. During his prep career, he gained varsity-level experience and also competed with the St. Louis Prospects at the club level. Witt trained for several years at Hankins Baseball Academy, focusing on both hitting and pitching, and balanced baseball with a long-running involvement in football. He went on to pursue his baseball career at the collegiate level at Missouri Valley College, competing as an infielder in the NAIA. (Sources: NCSA; Missouri Valley College)

Grace Rodgers – Division III Collegiate Soccer Starter & Cross Country Runner
O’Fallon native Grace Rodgers built a decorated soccer career from Fort Zumwalt North High School to the collegiate level. A three-year varsity starter and team captain in high school, she earned multiple academic and athletic honors while competing in both soccer and cross country. Rodgers went on to become a top performer at Webster University, where she was named SLIAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2023 after scoring nine goals with five assists and later earned additional All-SLIAC and academic recognition.
