Armed Career Criminal Arrested After Six Hour SWAT Standoff In Manchester
David Wilson, 41, with no fixed address, faces multiple charges from existing warrants, and additional charges for last night's incident.
MANCHESTER, NH — A high-stakes standoff in a Manchester neighborhood ended late Wednesday night after SWAT teams successfully apprehended a wanted man hiding inside a Laurel Street residence.
The incident began around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when Manchester Police arrived at 442 Laurel St. to serve arrest and search warrants for David Wilson, 41. Wilson, who has no fixed address, was wanted on several charges, including possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
Acting on intelligence that Wilson was inside and potentially armed, detectives established a perimeter and began ordering occupants to vacate the building via loudspeaker. While several individuals exited the home immediately, Wilson remained barricaded inside. During the next six hours, the situation intensified.

Crisis negotiators placed more than 36 calls to Wilson’s phone, but he refused to engage. After hours of unanswered announcements, tactical teams deployed chemical munitions into the building to force a surrender.
SWAT officers eventually breached the residence, conducting a methodical search before discovering Wilson hiding in a second-floor eave.

Upon his arrest, police reportedly found a bundle of crack cocaine hidden in Wilson’s sock. A further search of the residence uncovered a loaded 9mm firearm and a quantity of suspected heroin/fentanyl.
Wilson now faces a litany of new charges, including: Armed career criminal, felonious use of a firearm, possession of a controlled drug with tntent to distribute, and resisting arrest.
"Given Wilson’s criminal history and the suspected drug activity at the residence, the situation had the potential to turn violent," Chief Peter Marr said. "Our SWAT personnel responded with patience and professionalism... making every effort to negotiate a safe surrender."
Marr praised the teamwork of the responding officers and thanked local residents for their patience during the six-hour disruption to the neighborhood. Wilson was taken into custody without further incident.
