Manchester Man Arrested After Alleged Armed Confrontation at Local Walmart

MANCHESTER, NH — A local man is behind bars following an afternoon scare at the Walmart on Gold Street on Thursday.

Manchester Police responded to the retail store at 725 Gold Street at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Thursday after receiving reports of a heated argument involving a firearm.

According to investigators, the incident began when the victim was approached by an acquaintance inside the store. The victim reported that the interaction quickly turned hostile.

Despite attempts to walk away and de-escalate the situation, the victim told police the suspect followed him through the aisles.

The encounter escalated when the suspect allegedly pulled a handgun from his waistband. While the victim stated the weapon was never pointed directly at him, he told officers the suspect held the firearm at his side while issuing verbal threats, according to MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel.

An officer already working a detail at the Walmart quickly located the suspect. Police identified him as Lincoln Tarlue, 20, of Manchester.

Upon apprehension, Tarlue was found to be in possession of a firearm. Further investigation revealed that Tarlue is a convicted felon, leading to multiple felony charges, including criminal threatening, and felon in possession of a dangerous weapon

Tarlue was taken into custody without further incident. Following his processing, he was held on preventative detention.
