Cauble: Noble and Republicans Against Public Ed

Bedford resident: In addition to Noble's ignorant idea of segregating schools, Republicans refuse to adequately fund schools.

(Tony Schinella/Patch)

As a young boy I met, an friend of my father on the way home from school. He asked me how school was, and I said fine. He was glad because he felt an excellent public education was the basis of our great nation. I remember that to this day. It is too bad Republicans including Bedford’s Kristin Noble did not meet someone like that gentleman. If they had listened, they would not be acting as they are.

Kristin Noble, unfortunately Chair of the House Education Policy and Administration Committee, proposed segregating schools by separating schools for the children of Republicans and schools for children of Democrats. She shows a lack of intelligence because she does not include childrenof, undeclared.

In addition to Noble’s ignorant idea, Republicans refuse to adequately fund schools. NH Courts have ruled that the school funding is drastically short, but Republican legislators continually vote against bills to increase funding. They instead ended the Investment and Dividends tax and reduced the Business Profits and Enterprise Taxes. This has reduced revenue when NH needs it. They have also increased tax dollars spent for private school vouchers. These actions have reduced the ability of public education to be the basis our great values. These actions have also increased property taxes.

Now more than ever, we need to support public education so that the next generation educated in American values can undo the damage being done at the national and state level.
