I am Pat MacMonagle and I am running for NH State Representative from Bedford, Hillsborough District 2.

My wife Gerri and I moved to Bedford seven years ago from Connecticut. We are both retired.

My background is in business. I had a 33-year career at General Electric (GE) and retired as a corporate executive. I then worked for 10 years in business consulting. After moving here, I began volunteering with committees and campaigns. I served as chair of the Bedford Republican Committee from 2022 to 2024.

I decided to run because: I was asked, I consider it my civic duty, and I am increasingly concerned about affordability.

Affordability concerns that can be addressed at a state level include taxes, energy and housing.

I stand for:

  • Keeping NH tax competitive compared to all other states, overall low tax, and addressing property taxes without imposing broad-based taxes.
  • Promoting reliable, affordable and lower cost energy.
  • Improving affordability for housing and including localities in the processes.
  • Promoting economic growth opportunities.

My 43-year career required objectively analyzing issues, opportunities and working for solutions. This meant building relationships, looking at facts, resolving differences of opinion and driving for positive outcomes. I will apply practical business minded thinking to political problem solving.

We all want the best for our state, communities and residents. An important goal should always be to compromise, for the benefit of all Granite Staters.
