Market Days Festival Returns To Downtown Concord — Offering 3 Days Of Fun

CONCORD, NH — Intown Concord’s Market Days Festival returns to Downtown Concord on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

In its 49th year, the event features fun for everyone, including musical performances on multiple stages, food, sales, activities, and more. Jessica Martin, the executive director of Intown Concord, said more than 165 vendors would be downtown offering food, crafts, gifts, and items for sale. She added, “Market Days is a family-friendly event, providing an abundance of free activities to keep the kids entertained — from bounce houses to interactive demos and face painting to balloon animals, there will be non-stop fun for the little ones.”

On Friday night, the band Uprooted, with Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, will be headlining the showcase performance of the event.

Road Closure Info: North Main Street from Centre Street and Loudon Road to South Main Street at Hills Avenue will be closed from 4 a.m. June 22 to 1 a.m. on June 25. Side streets that will be closed or partially closed include Capitol, Depot, Park, Pleasant, School, and Warren streets.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on all three days.

Formerly known as Old Fashioned Bargain Days, when downtown shops sold their excess inventory before the new fall and winter products began to adorn shelves, the event is now in its 49th year.

Most of the time, the weather cooperates. Sometimes, it doesn't. A decade ago, there was a vicious thunderstorm, suspected to be a microburst but declared not to be one later, that blew through the city, causing a huge mess.

• Thursday, June 22: Partly sunny; High 76, low 57; 7 mph winds, with gusts up to 15 mph.
• Friday, June 23: A couple of afternoon showers; High 77, low 67; Chance of Rain: 60%; 6 mph winds, with gusts up to 10 mph.
• Saturday, June 24: A shower and t-storm; humid; High 79, low 65; Chance of Rain: 88%; 8 mph winds, with gusts up to 12 mph.
