Auditions Announced For 'To Kill a Mockingbird' In Concord
The Community Players of Concord will stage Christopher Sergel's adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee in May 2026.
CONCORD, NH — The Community Players of Concord have announced auditions for their upcoming production of "To Kill a Mockingbird."
The play, adapted by Christopher Sergel from Harper Lee's novel, will be performed on May 1, 2, and 3, at the Concord City Auditorium. Elizabeth Lent will direct the production.
The play is set in an Alabama town during the Great Depression. It explores themes of prejudice, compassion, and courage when a local lawyer defends a man accused of a crime. The Community Players described the writing as "timeless and lingering," and a "hard-hitting work."

Auditions are scheduled for Sunday, March 1, and Monday, March 3, at the Community Player’s Studio, located at 435 Josiah Bartlett Road in Concord. Children's auditions will run from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Adult auditions will follow from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
More than 15 roles are available for casting. This includes three youth actors: a girl, approximately 9 to 10 years old, and two boys, approximately 12 to 14 years old.
