Body Of Man Found Dead On Horseshoe Island In Concord Identified: Follow-Up
The elderly man was found frozen on March 10, near the railroad tracks, not far from an area frequented by homeless campers.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police and the state’s medical examiner are still investigating the death of a man found frozen along railroad tracks in the city’s North End.
The man has been identified by police as John Ernest Foth, 68, was believed to be homeless. His body was found on March 10 in a wooded area off the railroad tracks of Horseshoe Island, which sits in the middle of Horseshoe Pond.

Acting-Police Chief Barrett Moulton of the Concord Police Department said Foth had been deceased for a long period of time and was just a few feet from the rail itself.

There was no missing person’s report released for Foth. The fact he was found where he was and covered in snow was probably why he was not found earlier.
While the cause of death is not known, there are “pending studies,” Moulton said.

Foth was originally from New York. For several years, he lived on Prospect Street, not far from where he was found. Before moving to Concord, Foth also lived in Conway for several years.
