Concord Hospital Health System Ranks No. 1 In NH For Social Responsibility
The 2026-27 Lown Hospitals Index placed Concord Hospital Health System among top systems for equity and value.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Hospital Health System has earned top rankings in the 2026-27 Lown Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility, including a No. 1 ranking in New Hampshire for Social Responsibility, Health Equity, and Community Benefit.
The rankings were announced by Concord Hospital Health System, which said more than 3,600 U.S. hospitals and 300 health systems are included in the Lown Institute's review. Across its facilities, Concord Hospital Health System said staff earned 28 A ratings in categories including Social Responsibility, Value of Care, Inclusivity, Clinical Outcomes, and Avoiding Overuse.
The Lown Hospitals Index measures hospitals on factors beyond prestige and technology, according to the announcement. The index looks at how hospitals serve their communities, including how care is delivered equitably, how hospitals invest in surrounding populations, and whether patients receive high-value care that avoids unnecessary procedures.

“This recognition reflects the extraordinary work happening across our entire health system every day, and I could not be more proud of our staff, providers, and volunteers who make that possible,” CHHS President and CEO Robert P. Steigmeyer said. “I am proud of the dedication everyone brings to patient care each day. Over the past several years, we have made significant investments to strengthen healthcare access, services, facilities, and technology across the health system, and these rankings affirm that those efforts are making a real difference for the communities we serve. Most importantly, they reflect our commitment to providing high-quality, equitable, community-based care close to home for every patient who trusts us with their care.”
Vikas Saini, MD, president of the Lown Institute, also commented on the rankings.
