Fire And Rescue Teams, Police, State Troopers Search For Man Who Fell Into The Merrimack River
Video: A man fell off a railroad bridge in Hooksett on Saturday night. First responders spent nearly 2 hours searching for the man.
HOOKSETT, NH — State and local officials spent about two hours on Saturday night searching the Merrimack River in Hooksett for a man who reportedly fell off a railroad bridge, into the water, but did not resurface.
Just before 7:15 p.m., Hooksett fire and rescue teams and police were sent to Merrimack Street for a possible drowning investigation. According to Capital Region Fire Dispatch, the caller reported a man was walking on the railroad bridge when they fell into the water. Initially, two boats were deployed by Hooksett firefighters into the river to search for the man.
According to the InfoNH Facebook feed, the man did not jump into the river but fell off the bridge.

Later, New Hampshire State Police arrived.
Around 7:45 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game were called in to assist with the search.

News 603 posted a video of the search on Facebook.
Around 8:30 p.m., officials requested Marine Patrol respond to the scene and deploy a third boat to search for the man.
But just 9 p.m., firefighters discontinued the search and brought their boats in.
