NH Man Accused Of Dragging Mass. State Trooper In East Boston, MA, While Driving Under The Influence In BMW

Binit Bikram Shah of Raymond, New Hampshire, was arrested early Thursday morning on Stard Road in Seabrook near I-95 on several charges.

SEABROOK, NH — A man from Raymond was arrested on driving under the influence and other charges after incidents in two states early Thursday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., New Hampshire State Police received a BOLO (be-on-the-lookout) alert from Mass. State Police, concerning the driver of a 2021 BMW 5 Series, accused of dragging a trooper in East Boston, MA, earlier that morning. At just past 3 a.m., a trooper in New Hampshire spotted the car on Interstate 95 north in Seabrook and began following it after the driver left the highway at Exit 1. Seabrook police, along with state troopers, stopped the car on Stard Road.

The driver was identified as Binit Bikram Shah, 27, of Raymond.

“During their on-scene investigation,” state police said, “troopers determined that Shah showed signs of impairment.”

Shah was arrested on a felony charge of possession of controlled drugs as well as misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of drugs or liquor, driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent offense, license required-operating without a valid license, possession of drugs in a motor vehicle, and contempt of court-breach of bail conditions. He was held on preventive detention in the Rockingham County Jail and arraigned on Thursday.

Troopers were assisted by Mass. State Police and Seabrook police.

Shah, according to a post on Patch, was arrested by state police in July 2025 on driving after revocation-subsequent and speeding-25 mph over the limit of 55 or less.
