Man From Nashua Accused Of Threatening To Kill A Woman’s Family

NASHUA, NH — A man from Nashua was accused of threatening to kill the family of a woman known to him, according to police and court documents.

Jonathan Scott Murphy, 37, with a last known address of Cross Street in Nashua, was arrested on Aug. 10 on a felony count of criminal threatening-deadly weapon.

Police were sent to Cross Street after a 911 call. A complainant accused Murphy of calling the home and threatening to kill everyone in the family of the caller, according to Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor of the Nashua Police Department.

“Officers spoke with an adult victim who showed several videos and Facebook messages sent by Murphy, where he threatened to shoot and kill the victim,” the report said. “One video showed Murphy recording himself cycling and discharging a firearm out of the passenger window of a vehicle.”

The video was sent to the victim, a woman, via Facebook Messenger, according to a court complaint.

Detectives furthered the investigation, conducted interviews, and reviewed video evidence, according to Cinelli.

While investigating the incident, police learned Jaffrey police had stopped Murphy on an unrelated matter and arrested him on motor vehicle offenses. After his release, Nashua police arrested him.

After being arrested, Murphy was held without bail. He was arraigned by video on Aug. 11, offered no plea, and detained. Murphy requested an attorney and the request was approved.

On Aug. 27, the case was boundover to Hillsborough County Superior Court South. No future hearings were posted at time of publication.
