Man and Woman From Pittsfield Accused Of Armed Robbery That Left A Dog Fatally Shot
Joshua Peno, 35, and Mariah Troughton, 34, were arrested in Manchester after the Hollis Police Department issued a warrant.

HOLLIS, NH — Following a two-month investigation into an armed robbery where a dog was shot and killed on Laurel Hill Road, the Hollis Police Department announced the arrest of two Pittsfield residents.
Early this morning around 2 a.m., Manchester police arrested 35-year-old Joshua Peno and 34-year-old Mariah Troughton on active warrants issued by Hollis police.
Joshua Peno faces charges including: Class A Felony: Armed Robbery; Class B Felony: Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon; Class B Felony: Felonious Use of Firearms; Class B Felony: Cruelty to Animals

Mariah Troughton was charged with Class A Felony: Criminal Liability for Conduct of Another (in connection to Armed Robbery)
Police reported a male resident arranged an in-person meeting at his home via electronic communications with an individual presenting as a woman.

After being notified she had arrived, the resident went outside to the driveway with his dog. He was confronted by the woman and an unidentified man who displayed a firearm, shot the dog, and demanded money.
Both were denied bail and transferred to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections. They are scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 5, at the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua.
Local, state, and federal agencies conducted the investigation jointly, including the Hollis, Manchester, and Pittsfield police departments, the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may follow.
