A Dozen Schools Battle On The Seacoast | Souhegan Takes 3 At Quad | Merrimack Duals: NH Wrestling Results

Wrestlers from Bedford, Nashua South, Portsmouth, Souhegan place at the Freshman State Championship and JV tourney; Salem wrestles in Mass.

CONCORD, NH — Wrestlers from Bedford, Concord, Hudson, Monadnock, Nashua South, Portsmouth, Souhegan, Spaulding, and Timberlane participated in the NH Freshman State Championship, while those schools, plus Goffstown (but sans Nashua), participated in Tiny’s JV World, a junior varsity tourney.

Wrestlers from Patch communities placing at Freshman States in their weight categories included Vinnie Cress of Portsmouth, placing fourth; Walker Drown placing third and Zachary Benn placing fourth, both for Bedford; Brad Parkhurst placing second for Souhegan; Calvin Foxxon placing third for Bedford and Brayden Forman placing fourth for Souhegan; Carles Fearon for Souhegan placing third; Benjamin Perkins coming in first for Bedford and Hunter Griffin placing third for Portsmouth; William Riley placing first and Henry Churbuck coming in fourth for Bedford; and Cyrus Kern in first for Portsmouth.

Wrestlers from Patch communities placing in the JV tourney included Yashi Bajpai coming in first for Bedford, Caelan French placing second for Portsmouth, and Meury Navarrete of Nashua South placing fourth; Noah Beasley of Nashua South placing third and Arslan Khandkar coming in fourth Bedford; Isabelle Boisvert placing third for Bedford and Anghelo Araujo coming in fourth for Nashua South; Hamir Pathania placing first for Nashua, Audrey Shaw coming in third for Bedford, and John Burkhard placing fourth for Souhegan; Eric Gao of Bedford coming in first and Arihant Gadari of Nashua South coming in third; Brennon Mielke of Souhegan placing third and Christopher Angellis coming in fourth for Nashua South; Imran Akbar of Nashua South coming in third; and Christian Racioppi of Nashua South coming in fourth.

In the matches against Lebanon, there were five double forfeits, and Souhegan won two by forfeit. Owen Kostecki in the 126, Jaiden Watts in the 132, Chase Knuckles in the 144, Cole Mobley in the 175, and Gabriel Holt in the 285, all won by pins.

In the Mascenic matches, there were three double forfeits. Nathan Stout in the 120, Watts in the 132, and Kaler in the 138 all won by pin. Knuckles in the 144 won by tech fall, 18-3. Alex Sarfde pinned his opponent in the 150 and Marcus Stout won by tech fall in the 157, 19-4. Patrick Casey in the 165, Micah Dibble in the 190, and Holt in the 285 all won by pins.

Against Nashua North, Kyle Sukcharoenphon at 106, Nathan Stout at 120, Watts at 132, and Kaler at 138 all won by pin. Sebastian Ochoa of Nashua North won by pin in the 126. Knuckles won in the 144 by pin. Kayden Vallerand-Kenneally in the 150 won by tech fall, 18-2. Jace Gallego of Nashua North in the 157 won by a major decision, 11-3. Casey in the 165, Mobley in the 175, and Holt in the 215, won by falls. Souhegan won two bouts by forfeit, while Nashua North won one.

5 Battle In Merrimack Hall Of Fame Duals

Bow, Winnisquam Regional, and two schools from Maine sent wrestlers to the Hall of Fame Duals in Merrimack.

Merrimack dropped all four matches. Bow beat Merrimack, 63-12, while Marshwood, Maine, beat the Tomahawks, 53-24. Noble also beat Merrimack, 54-27, and Winnisquam won, 60-24. Bow and Winnisquam also beat Marshwood, 55-21 and 51-29. Noble beat Winnisquam, 59-22.

Individual results for Merrimack wrestlers included Cash Torres in the 157 and Nicolin Stevens of Merrimack in the 175, winning by pins against Bow. Against Marshwood, Sara Snavely in the 120, Brandon Gendron in the 126, Torres in the 157, and Stevens in the 175, all won by pins. Owen Sayball, in the 138, won by decision against Noble, 12-11, while Torres and Stevens won by pins. Two Merrimack wrestlers won by forfeit. Against Winnisquam, Tyler Hansbury in the 285 won by pin for Merrimack, while Stevens and Anderson also won by falls. Two other Merrimack wrestlers won by forfeit.

A Dozen Schools Duel In Winnacunnet Duals

Campbell, Dover, Exeter, Manchester West, Milford, Oyster River, Pinkerton Academy, Portsmouth, Raymond, Spaulding, White Mountains Regional, and Winnacunnet all wrestled in Hampton at the Winnacunnet Duals.

Limited scores were available online.

Portsmouth tied with Campbell, 30-30, while the Clippers beat Raymond, 41-27.

In the Portsmouth vs. Campbell bouts, Carter Kuhn in the 120, Andrew “AJ” Craig in the 138, Stephen Whisler in the 175, and Evan Cook in the 285 for Portsmouth, all pinned their opponents. In the bouts against Raymond, Kuhn won by tech fall, 17-2, Hayden Korth in the 132, Craig in the 138, Emmanuel “Manu” Poupon in the 157, and Cook in the 285, all won by pin.

Salem Beats Quabbin In Reading, Mass.

Salem faced off against other wrestlers in Reading.

The only scores available involved Quabbin, which they won, 69-10. Ella Paris in the 106, John Blocksidge in the 113, and Mykel Walters in the 126, all won for Salem by falls. Jacob Haibowicz in the 132, Carter Lemire in the 150, Micah Howard in the 157, John Vargas in the 165, and Zander Wood in the 175, all won by pins. Jaxson Donahue, in the 190, won 5-1. Salem also won three forfeits.

Other Matches

Manchester Central and Memorial, as well as Kearsarge Regional and Mascoma Valley Regional, all wrestled at a quad at Mascoma, but results were not available at publication time.

Kingswood Regional and Pelham wrestled at John Stark Regional in a quad.

Plymouth Regional wrestled at the Essex, Vermont, Tournament.

Keene also wrestled at the Franklin Tech Duals in Massachusetts.

Timberlane Regional wrestled at the Schenectady Invitational in New York.
