New Hampshire Company To Build Drones To Assist Ukrainian Forces

NEWINGTON, NH — New Hampshire-based weapons manufacturer Wilcox Industries has signed a deal with Ukrainian drone company General Cherry to build drones for use in the war in Ukraine, according to The Kyiv Independent.
General Cherry manufactures drones used on the front lines of the war, according to the company’s website. It cooperates with military units and receives feedback, with a goal to “constantly improve our products to meet the challenges of the modern battlefield.”

The company’s products include First Person View (FPV) and interceptor drones, which under the new agreement will be built in New Hampshire by Wilcox Industries.
"We are pleased to have the unique opportunity to build production together, which will manufacture the newest means of defense and striking,” General Cherry co-founder Yaroslav Hryshyn said in a release. “First of all, we are focusing on interceptor drones as our flagship product.”

The agreement makes Wilcox the first-known New Hampshire firm to directly support Ukraine’s war effort, which places it among a growing network of U.S. defense contractors – including Lockheed Martin and RTX Corporation – that supply weapons and military technology to Ukrainian forces.
Wilcox Industries aims to deliver the most capable tactical solutions for military, law enforcement and commercial customers, according to its mission statement.
Officials from Wilcox Industries did not respond to requests for comment.
A General Cherry representative told the Kyiv Independent that “the production launch date will depend on ongoing negotiations with the Ukrainian government.”
According to militarnyi.com, a General Cherry representative said: “The key goal of the partnership is to significantly improve and develop Ukrainian equipment and technologies by leveraging the partner’s best practices and scientific and technical infrastructure. We will use all available technical and component resources to jointly create the best drones in the world.”
General Cherry did not return requests for comment.
Between February 2022 and December 2025, Ukrainian forces have suffered more than 500,000 casualties, and Russia has reportedly incurred about 1.2 million casualties, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
