A Nod to Tradition: The “push-in ceremony” dates back to the 1800s, when fire crews returning from a call with horse-drawn equipment would unhitch the horses and physically push the apparatus back into the firehouse. Today, departments continue this proud tradition to honor those early firefighters and the legacy they built, a perfect way to welcome Engine 3 into service.
The Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce congratulates the Salem Fire Department on this milestone and wishes them many safe and successful years with Engine 3 on the front lines!
