Flash Flood Warnings Issued As Strong Storms Soak NJ

Flash flood warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings are being issued Friday afternoon in parts of New Jersey as another round of strong storms soak the state, according to the National Weather Service.

Flash flooding is possible in parts of Atlantic, Burlington and Ocean counties through the evening, forecasters said.

Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have already fallen in Atlantic County as of 2:30 p.m., National Weather Service forecasters said.

Flooding is already occurring in places including Pleasantville, Egg Harbor Township and other parts of Atlantic County.

The last severe thunderstorm warning, issued in parts of Ocean County, expired at 3:15 p.m.

Several inches of rain fell across New Jersey during strong storms Thursday.

Additional rainfall is not expected Friday evening.

After, conditions look to be dry through at least Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

"An upper-level disturbance moving through the region on Sunday has the potential to result in some showers and thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours," National Weather Service forecasters said.
