See the top 20 districts with the highest median salaries and the 20 with the lowest median salaries.

Where are teachers earning the most in New Jersey and where are they paid the least? Data from the New Jersey Department of Education shows a gap of more than $50,000 between the median salaries of the highest- and the lowest-paying districts in the state.

Median salaries are affected by the years of experience teachers have, along with advanced degrees, both of which increase a teacher's salary.

Here are the 20 districts that paid the highest median salaries in the 2024-25 school year, followed by the 20 that paid the lowest median salaries for 2024-25. Included is the median salary from 2023-24 from each district.
