Beach Haven West Home Suffers 'Major' Damage In Fire: Police
Police said a neighbor reported the fire Tuesday night, and crews evacuated nearby homes before putting it out.
BEACH HAVEN WEST, NJ — A house fire on Glenn Drive in Stafford Township left one home with major damage and caused exterior damage to neighboring residences Tuesday night, according to the Stafford Township Police Department.
Police reported that on April 29, 2026, at approximately 8:10 p.m., the department received a report from a neighbor that the rear of the residence at 19 Glenn Drive was on fire. Officers responded to evacuate the residence and nearby homes and found that 19 Glenn Drive was unoccupied, according to police.
A large mutual aid response followed. Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Department, Waretown Volunteer Fire Department, Barnegat Township Volunteer Fire Department, Eagleswood Volunteer Fire Department, Ship Bottome Volunteer Fire Department, West Tuckerton Fire Department and Forked River Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. Stafford Township Volunteer EMS and Barnegat Township Volunteer EMS also responded, police reported.

The fire was extinguished, but the home sustained major damage, according to the police department. The immediate neighboring residences also sustained exterior damage. Police reported there were no injuries and no loss of pets.
Stafford Township Fire Prevention and the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to assist with the investigation, according to police. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

In its statement, the police department also recognized the emergency response from Stafford Township and surrounding towns. “We thank all the volunteers, from our town and the neighboring towns, for their quick, professional response to keep the fire contained.”
