Already for Spring?
Master Gardeners of Ocean County hold a help-desk from 10AM to 12PM for questions from the public about gardens, houseplants, trees, shrubs, weeds, plant diseases, insects, and general gardening questions. Specimens are encouraged for identification and remediation recommendation. Trained Master Gardener volunteers will research your inquiry to provide you with accurate, science-based recommendations regarding your questions. Visit us on the 2nd and 4th Monday, March thru early November.
A concurrent Speakers' Bureau program convenes on the 2nd Monday from10:30 AM to 11:30 AM starting in May. This years topics are Roses, Shore Gardening, Orchids, Spring Bulbs, and Sunflowers
This year we are also offering Houseplant Hospital concurrently on the 4th Monday from 10 AM to 12 PM. Indoor plants also go through a period of dormancy in the winter and will begin to come back to life as the daylight increases. This is the time to slowly increase watering schedule and return to fertilization. Give the plants a spring cleaning by gently dusting the leaves and re-potting if plants have become root bound. Having a problem with one of your houseplants? Bring in your plant for evaluation--exception is insect infestation, then we recommend a photo(s).
