- The Southern Ocean Birding Group is hosting a free "Wings Over Long Beach Island Day" on Saturday, March 10. Attendees can head to the Barnegat Lighthouse Visitor Center at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park at 10 a.m. for an introduction to the day's events, which include an introduction to birding and guided birdwatching at Barnegat Inlet, one of the east coast's best location for spotting winter seabirds.
