Good morning, Barnegat, and welcome to a new week.

It looks to be a busy one. So drag yourself out of that hot wing-induced post-Superbowl stupor and let's get down to business.

The Township Committee meets tonight for the only time this month. Check out the agenda here. The zoning board also meets this week, on Tuesday night.

Today, we'll take a closer look at a weekend fire that occurred in a vacant house on Mary Court. We're also looking into a story on Barnegat's food pantry and its work in the community.

Don't forget, by the way, that it's an "on" week for recycling in the township.

A traffic heads up: As of 5:19, there were reports of a vehicle fire on the Parkway northbound near the Toms River tolls. The accident has since been cleared, but the lane remains blocked as of 6 a.m., so be aware that there may be residual delays.
