Deer Hunting Season In Basking Ridge Underway For 2026-27: What To Know

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The 2026/2026 deer hunting season is underway in Bernards Township.

The English Family Woods property, which is open for hiking off Allen Road, will be closed to the public on select dates in September through January to allow for hunting.

Only hunters approved by English Farm Associates are allowed to hunt on these specified days.

Here is a list of dates the property will be closed for hunting:

September:

• Saturday Sept. 12
• Saturday Sept. 19

October:

• Sunday, Oct. 4
• Saturday, Oct. 10
• Sunday, Oct. 18

November:

• Monday, Nov. 2
• Tuesday, Nov. 3
• Wednesday, Nov. 4
• Thursday, Nov. 5
• Friday, Nov. 6
• Saturday, Nov. 7
• Sunday, Nov. 8
• Sunday, Nov. 15
• Saturday, Nov. 21
• Monday, Nov. 30

December:

• Saturday, Dec. 19

January:
