Dave Portnoy's Barstool Sports Joins Far Hills 105th Race Meeting

FAR HILLS, NJ — The 105th running of the Far Hills Race Meeting has some new additions, including a new tailgate area and David Portnoy's Barstool Sports merchandise.

The annual steeplechase event will again pair racing with fundraising on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Moorland Farm.

"Tradition is built on experiences people cannot wait to relive, but tradition should never mean standing still," said Guy Torsilieri, Chairman of the Far Hills Race Meeting.

"At Moorland Farm, we are constantly raising the bar, and this year’s firsts will transform the race-day experience, especially our partnership with Barstool Sports. Their interest is a landmark moment that reflects both the growth of the Far Hills Race Meeting and the surging popularity of horse racing. These designs are going to move as fast as the horses, so racegoers will want to get theirs before they cross the finish line and sell out," Torsilieri said.

The Hunt x Barstool Sports collection will go on sale online beginning Oct. 1 and will also be sold at three merchandise locations on race day.

The 10-piece collection highlights imagery from the event and "The Hunt," a longtime nickname tied to the race meeting.

Also new this year is The Knoll, a premium reserved tailgating area with 20-by-20-foot spaces, which organizers said are twice the size of infield spots.

The area will include access to semi-private restrooms, a hay bale play area for children and tailgating games.

Organizers said The Knoll is a short walk from the food truck area and costs $600, including four general admission tickets.

The race meeting will offer $825,000 in purses, which organizers said makes it the most prestigious event on the steeplechase circuit for 2026.

New for 2026, racegoers will be able to wager through NYRA Bets in addition to 4NJBets, allowing bets from mobile phones during the event.

Organizers also said race day will include all-inclusive options such as The Hunt Club and The Chairman’s Tent, more than 30 vendors in Vendor Village, and food trucks ranging from pizza and burgers to lobster and ice cream.

According to event organizers, the Far Hills Race Meeting has raised more than $22 million for local healthcare since it began and will support five beneficiaries in 2026: RWJUH Somerset, Crossroads4Hope, Community in Crisis, LifeCamp and Bonnie Brae. The event is sponsored by Open Road Auto Group.
