That's according to NJ.com, which recently shared a list of the 43 best empanadas in the Garden State.
The list features Bayville's own El Gordo Coqui, a Puerto Rican restaurant located at 271 Atlantic City Blvd.

El Gordo Coqui boasts a variety of empanada flavors. You can order your basic beef, chicken or cheese empanada.
But if you want something more adventurous, the restaurant offers some unique flavors.

"Sausage and peppers is New Jersey’s forgotten sandwich, and we thank the folks at El Gordo Coqui for having it on their empanada menu," NJ.com wrote.
Pepperoni and cheese, chicken bacon ranch and even Korean BBQ beef are stuffed inside these fried pastries.
The restaurant also offers sandwiches and platters.
"Don’t you dare leave without taking home some of the salsa verde-like dipping sauce. Wow," NJ.com wrote.
