'Big Book Sale' Set For Surf City Library

The Friends of the Island Library will host a two-day book sale at the Surf City branch.

SURF CITY, NJ — LBI-area residents can find new reads at the upcoming Big Book Sale at the Long Beach Island Branch of the Ocean County Library.

The sale is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27, and Saturday, Feb. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. A selection of books for all ages will be available for browsing and purchase.

The proceeds generated from the book sale will directly benefit the Friends of the Island Library. This organization serves as a vital community resource by providing local support for the Ocean County Library’s branches. The Friends of the Island Library engage in various activities to support the library's mission.

Members of the Friends of the Island Library advocate within their communities. They attend community and civic events. They also support the public library mission for Freedom to Read and Access to Information. The group conducts fundraising through book sales, programs, outreach, and other activities. These funds are then used to expand programming at the Long Beach Island Branch. They also support ongoing projects at the library.
