BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bertha Adler – a longtime Bloomfield resident – celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday.

According to her family, Adler was born in Manhattan to Lithuanian immigrant parents who came through Ellis Island. She is one of eight children, and later married Egon Adler, originally from Austria, on Aug. 25, 1963. She is the mother of two children, Jeffrey and Sandra, both of Bloomfield, and grandmother to five grandchildren.

Family and friends planned to celebrate Adler’s centenarian milestone with a party at Just Jake’s in Montclair.
