Crescent Lighting In Bloomfield Will Celebrate Ramadan 2026

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield will hold its first Crescent Lighting Event in advance of Ramadan on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

The public event is scheduled for 5 p.m. at MAARIF School, 236 Hoover Avenue. The lighting ceremony will take place outdoors.

“Whether observing Ramadan or joining in support of our Muslim neighbors, we invite the Bloomfield community to take part in a meaningful new tradition,” a municipal event notice states. “Join us for an evening of reflection, learning, and togetherness as we mark the start of the holy month.”

Ramadan is expected to begin on the evening of Feb. 17 this year.
