Dozens Of Bloomfield Homes May Lose Water, Main Repairs Also Expected To Impact Traffic

Water main repairs will temporarily cut service to dozens of homes in Bloomfield.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Water main repairs may cut service to dozens of homes in Bloomfield on Thursday, Feb. 12.

The Bloomfield Department of Public Works will be repairing a water main at Montgomery Street and Berkeley Avenue, with work expected to take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

About 50 nearby homes have been notified of temporary water service interruptions, the township said.

Impacted household should store water for essential use. After service restoration, temporary discoloration may occur. Residents should run cold water until it is clear.

A southbound lane road closure will begin around 9 a.m. Drivers should expect delays, authorities said.
