BRICK, NJ — If you are looking for a free activity to do with your kids this summer, the Women's Club of Brick is inviting them to take on a quest.

The program is called Adventure Quest, and it is a scavenger hunt that will introduce those who participate to parts of Brick they don't even know exist.

From parks and trails to hidden history, there are gems that participants can learn about.

Brick Adventure Quest uses an app called Adventure Lab, Cheryl Dyer said when she presented the program at the Brick Township Board of Education meeting. The app is free and available on both Android and Apple.

People can join in the fun by downloading the free app on their phone and follow the directions to the various sites.

There are four categories, history, civics, parks, and trails, and each category has five locations to visit in Brick.

When they visit the location, they will be prompted on the app to answer a question about that location. If they visit all 20 locations and turn in their completed Quest passport to the email address provided by the Women's Club, they will receive a certificate of completion from Mayor Lisa Crate.

QR codes for the Women's Club website and for the Adventure Lab app on the card below can help you participate.

"We want folks to be able to learn about it and know about the town in which they live," Dyer said.

"A lot of people have lived here for years and years and don't know anything about Brick," said Debbie Casey, during an episode of Crate Conversations, noting the town has more than 20 trails, recreation areas and parks.

Adventure Quest "gets families out to do something together. They learn about the towns. They learn about services. They learn about what exists right around them," she said.

"It takes you from one end of Brick to the other," said Maria Hoffman during the Crate Conversations episode.

The quests are independent of each other and allow people to choose whatever interests them on a particular day.

When people complete each portion there's a virtual postcard to be emailed that certifies they have finished it. The email address is brickadventurequest@gmail.com.
