Bound Brook Freshman Named April 2026 Somerset VoTech Student Of The Month
Genesis Marie Perez-Gomez was recognized for Jaguar Pride at Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — A Bound Brook student has been named April 2026 Student of the Month at Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School.
Genesis Marie Perez-Gomez, a freshman in the Health Occupations program, received the recognition for April.
The school said students are nominated each month by faculty and staff for demonstrating a particular trait that makes them exceptional.

April’s theme was "Jaguar Pride," and nominees were selected for their "spirit, leadership, and dedication help build a stronger, more united school culture."
SCVTHS recognized Genesis for her sense of pride in the school community.

Health Occupations instructor Stephen Palmer stated that Genesis "consistently represents our school with positivity, respect, and responsibility."
He also noted that her "involvement and school spirit contribute to building a stronger and more connected Jaguar community."
At school, Genesis takes part in the School Safety Committee, which includes staff and students working to maintain a safe and supportive environment at SCVTHS. She is also a member of HOSA, a student organization for students interested in future health care careers.
Outside school, Genesis volunteers at her church. According to the announcement, she helps with theater productions and assists with Sunday School lessons and activities.
When she is not busy with schoolwork and activities, she enjoys reading, playing volleyball, baking and spending time with her family.
Genesis is the daughter of Lidier G. Perez and Viviana P. Gomez of Bound Brook. Looking ahead, she plans to attend Rutgers New Jersey Medical School as she continues her education toward a career in the medical field.
