BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s boys and girls soccer teams have earned a national academic honor for the third straight year, with both programs recognized by the United Soccer Coaches Association for their work in the classroom.

The organization announced its high team academic award winners in September, and both Bridgewater-Raritan teams were included.

The award recognized scholastic soccer teams for their educational excellence during the 2025-2026 school year.

The Grade Point Average for both teams was compiled by Bridgewater-Raritan High School Counselor Tito Santos, who also coaches the high school’s freshman boys soccer team.

According to the school, the girls team finished with a 3.85 GPA and the boys team posted a 3.49.

Those results put Bridgewater-Raritan in a small national group. Only 29 schools in the country had both their boys and girls soccer teams recognized for the award.

The captains of both teams spoke about the challenge of balancing classes with practices and games.

Girls captain Maddy Corbitt said, "I think it’s very important that we keep up with both the academic and athletic parts of high school sports, and for the past few years our team has been doing just that."

Corbitt added, "To be able to not only be a part of this team, but also to be the captain of it makes me extremely proud and I hope the team continues to receive this award in the years to come."

Boys captain Conor Rosander said, "Being a student-athlete is a lot. We practice every day after school, come home late from games, and still have to complete schoolwork."

He added, "It requires a lot of effort to balance these responsibilities, so it is an honor to receive an award highlighting our hard work."

The recognition comes as both teams have also posted strong results on the field this fall. The girls soccer team has played to an 8-2-2 record, while the boys soccer team has earned a 9-4 record.
